Wagmo Pet Insurance Plans, Coverage & Pricing
Wagmo offers two types of coverage for your furry friends: Insurance Plans and Wellness Plans. Unlike other pet insurance providers, Wagmo allows customers to purchase either plan type together or separately (most other companies only offer wellness plans as an add-on to their insurance policies). We’ll cover both, starting with the Insurance Plan.

Wagmo Pet Wellness Coverage
Unlike pet insurance, Wagmo’s Wellness Plan reimburses you for the routine care that you’re likely already doing to keep your pet healthy, like vaccines, vet visits and flea and tick prevention. This plan is offered in three tiers, which we’ll outline below:
Value
Wagmo’s base-level Wellness Plan is $20 per month* and covers the following:
- $350 annual reimbursement limit
- One routine exam per year
- Two vaccines per year
- One routine blood test per year
- One fecal test per year
We did the math, and this plan option will save you $110 per year on these preventative treatments.

Wagmo Pet Insurance Cost
The cost of Wagmo Pet Insurance is based on your pet’s breed, age and the cost of care in your zip code. Wagmo dog insurance starts at $13 per month, and cat insurance starts at $9 per month.* As with all companies, the younger your pet is, the less it costs to insure them. If you’re looking for the lowest monthly costs, you’ll want to explore Wagmo’s high-deductible plan options.
Wagmo is set up like many other pet insurance companies with flexible options for deductible amounts and reimbursement rates. Their reimbursement rate options are higher than most companies, at 90 percent or 100 percent (versus 70 percent to 90 percent with other providers), and Wagmo has managed to offer these options, which give you more cash back on covered expenses, at a reasonable monthly rate. Let’s explore this in more detail:
-
Annual reimbursement limit:
- The maximum dollar amount you can be paid back per policy year
- Fixed at $20,000 per year*
- While most companies offer options to choose from in this category, Wagmo offers a generous fixed reimbursement, which, based on their research, should cover most pet’s needs while creating a more affordable plan option
-
Annual deductible amount:
- The fixed dollar amount you’re responsible for paying before your insurance kicks in
- Choose from: $250, $500 or $1,000*
- The lower your deductible, the more you’ll pay per month
-
Reimbursement percentage:
- The percentage of each covered vet bill you’ll be paid back after you meet your deductible
- Choose from: 90 percent or 100 percent*
- The higher your reimbursement rate, the more you’ll pay per month
Getting a price quote with Wagmo is quick and easy. We used their online tool to generate a quote for a three-year-old, mixed-breed male dog living in Atlanta. Here’s how their monthly premium prices change based on the coverage options you choose:*
- For a plan with Wagmo’s fixed $20,000 annual reimbursement limit, $1,000 annual deductible and 90 percent reimbursement rate, the monthly premium would be $28.07.
- For a plan with Wagmo’s fixed $20,000 annual reimbursement limit, $250 annual deductible and 100 percent reimbursement rate, the monthly premium would be $52.90.
Like other pet insurance providers, Wagmo’s plans are less expensive for cats. Here are our sample quotes for a three-year-old, mixed-breed male cat living in Atlanta*:
- For a plan with Wagmo’s fixed $20,000 annual reimbursement limit, $1,000 annual deductible and 90 percent reimbursement rate, the monthly premium would be $18.72.
- For a plan with Wagmo’s fixed $20,000 annual reimbursement limit, $250 annual deductible and 100 percent reimbursement rate, the monthly premium would be $34.38.

Differences Between Wagmo Dog Insurance vs Cat Insurance
Unlike some pet insurance companies, Wagmo’s coverage doesn’t change between cats and dogs. Cat owners will enjoy the same generous reimbursement percentage options, $20,000 annual reimbursement limit, flexible deductible options and per-incident and lifetime limits as dogs do.
They do recognize that cats typically don’t need as much medical attention as dogs, however, and have adjusted their monthly premiums to align with that. According to Wagmo, their cat insurance plans start at $9 per month, while their dog insurance plans start at $13 per month.*

Wagmo Discounts
Wagmo offers a few different discounts that can help you save on your premium. At the time of this review, for example, they are offering a multi-pet discount for households with more than one pet and a 15 percent discount on renewals if no claims were filed during the previous year.
