Ro Body Membership

Ro Body is a membership program that gives you access to Ro’s weight loss support tools and special savings on GLP-1 medications. Ro Body does not include the cost of your GLP-1 prescription, which is a separate monthly fee. Also, as we mentioned above, many of Ro’s GLP-1 options require a Ro Body membership.

Here’s what a Ro Body membership includes:

  • Prepay & Save—This feature unlocks the lowest medication prices available; save $100 per month on the Wegovy pen and $50 per month on the Wegovy pill, when you prepay for multiple months of medication and an annual Ro Body plan.
  • Insurance concierge—Get access to a dedicated concierge to fight for approval for your GLP-1 coverage, which means your medication cost might only be your copay.
  • Unlimited provider messaging
  • Side effect management & titration support
  • Weight tracking & dose logging
  • 1:1 health coaching

At the time of this review, Ro Body costs $39 for the first month. After the first month, you can opt to prepay for an annual plan in full, which equates to $74 per month, or stay on a month-to-month plan, which is $149 per month. You may cancel at any time; however, any pre-paid fees are non-refundable.

How it Works

If you’re familiar with how telehealth platforms work, Ro is very similar. But if you’re just learning the ropes, here’s what the onboarding process looks like with Ro:

  1. Intake questionnaire. Answer a few questions about your health and goals, and find out if you’re eligible within two days.
  2. Provider review & prescription. A provider will review your info and if eligible, prescribe the right treatment for you.
  3. Insurance check. If applicable, Ro will check your insurance to see if GLP-1 coverage is available. If covered, Ro will send your prescription to your pharmacy. If not, your provider will suggest alternative FDA-approved cash-pay GLP-1 options.
  4. Start treatment. Your medication will be shipped to your door if paying outright, or picked up from your pharmacy if using insurance. Once you begin treatment, you’ll continue to have regular check-ins with your provider to monitor your progress, adjust dosage and provide support when you need it.

Bottom Line: Why We Love It

Ro stands out for its large selection of weight loss medications, including injection pens and pills, competitive pricing and comprehensive, easy-to-access telehealth platform.

While membership requirements are becoming more commonplace among telehealth GLP-1 providers, we think the Ro Body membership stands out for added benefits like Prepay & Save, where you can save $50 to $100 per month on your GLP-1 prescription, and for their insurance concierge service, which assigns you a dedicated specialist to communicate with your insurance company on your behalf, including fighting for coverage approval for your GLP-1 medications.

FAQs

GLP-1 drugs mimic the natural hormone in your body called GLP-1, which your body uses to regulate blood sugar and appetite. GLP-1s communicate directly with the part of your brain that registers feeling full and satisfied, and they also slow down how quickly food leaves your stomach. As your digestion slows, you may feel full longer and eat less, which can lead to weight loss.

With Ro, the cost of GLP-1s varies based on several factors: Medication type and dosage level, whether you use insurance or opt to pay out of pocket, and if you choose Prepay & Save.

Using insurance? Ro’s insurance concierge will fight for your coverage, and if approved, the out of pocket amount for your medication might only be the cost of your copay. The insurance concierge feature is part of the Ro Body membership, which is a separate monthly fee in addition to the cost of medication.

Paying outright? With Ro, you will have access to the lowest price GLP-1s, at the same prices as LillyDirect, NovoCare and TrumpRx. Options start at $149 per month and increase for higher dosages.

Prepay & Save can unlock even more savings. This is another benefit of the Ro Body membership, which allows you to save $50 or more per month on the cost of your GLP-1 prescription when you prepay for multiple months at a time.

Additional Ro Body membership fee required. To unlock the best prices and weight loss support, you’ll need a Ro Body membership. The fee is $39 for the first month, and $74 per month when you purchase an annual plan.

Ro provides services to members in all 50 states and Washington, D.C. However, service availability varies from state to state, which means that certain treatments may not be offered everywhere.

A few additional things to note about using Ro’s telehealth platform:

  • In order to receive treatment though Ro, you need to have seen a healthcare provider within the last three years.
  • Depending on where you live, a video call with your Ro provider may be required before medication can be prescribed.
  • Depending on your health review, your provider may ask you to take a metabolic lab test to look closer at your hormones and metabolism. A metabolic test at Quest is included in your Ro Body membership, or an at-home test kit can be purchased for an additional fee. If Quest is not available in your area, you’ll receive an at-home kit for no extra charge.
