Leesa Mattress Review

The Leesa Original is an all-foam mattress with an ideal balance of cooling, contouring and responsiveness, delivering a comfortable night’s sleep for a variety of different sleep styles. As a certified B-corp company, Leesa has a strong social mission: For every 10 mattresses sold, they donate one to those in need.

While our review focuses on the Leesa Original, we also love that Leesa offers multiple mattress options, including a hybrid and a luxury hybrid model.

What Type of Sleeper is this Mattress Best For?

Leesa rates their Original mattress a medium-firm, or between 5 and 7 on a scale of 1-to-10, with a 10 being the most firm. Since a majority of sleepers prefer this firmness level, Leesa’s combination of comfort and support appeals to a wide range of people.

Heads up, hot sleepers: Traditional memory foam tends to trap heat, so Leesa designed a specialized layer of breathable foam that sits between the cover and the memory foam layer, allowing for air to circulate and move heat away from the body—an important feature for anyone who relies on temperature regulation throughout the night.

The tailored support of Leesa’s memory foam layer provides high-quality pressure relief and helps with spinal alignment in all sleeping positions—including combination sleepers—though stomach sleepers who weigh more than 130 pounds may prefer a mattress that’s slightly more firm.

Leesa’s two-inch memory foam layer also has great motion isolation properties, making it a solid choice for couples, active sleepers and light sleepers.

Socially conscious shoppers will also love that Leesa is a certified B-corporation, which means they’re focused on meeting the highest environmental and social standards. They use recycled and natural materials in their mattresses, which are manufactured in the U.S. Their headquarters in Virginia Beach, Va., are powered by renewable energy. And they have a big social mission, too: Leesa donates one mattress for every ten sold.

How It Works: Purchasing Your Leesa Mattress

When it comes to purchasing a Leesa mattress, you have a few options available.

Shoppers can take advantage of easy online ordering and Leesa’s stellar customer service when purchasing directly through their website. Ordering your Leesa mattress online is as easy as choosing your mattress model, size and adding it to your cart.

But before you check out, be sure to browse Leesa’s sleep accessories—they offer bed frames and foundations, pillows, mattress protectors, sheets and more. But the real deal is in the sleep bundles section, where you’ll find mattress and accessory bundles that can save you up to 15%.

If you need help getting your new dream suite set up, you can add Leesa’s white glove delivery service to your order for an additional $150, which includes removal of your old mattress and box spring, as well as professional setup of your new mattress and foundation or bed base. You can find this option under “Shipping Method” during checkout. If you choose white glove delivery, Leesa’s delivery partner will contact you to schedule a four-hour window for your in-home delivery and setup.

You can also purchase Leesa mattresses online through Amazon, though purchasing from a third-party retailer generally means you’ll work with that retailer, rather than Leesa, for any service-related questions or returns.

Rather shop in person? Leesa has you covered. They’ve partnered with major retailers across the U.S., like West Elm, Pottery Barn, and Macy’s, so you can try their mattresses out in person before purchasing. Check out the store finder page on their website to find a brick-and-mortar location near you.

Since your mattress is made to order, Leesa will get to work making it once your purchase is complete. It generally takes between one and three days for your mattress to be made. Then it ships via FedEx, and the company estimates between one and five days for transit time, depending on your location.

Leesa Mattress Materials & Design

The Leesa Original is a 10-inch, all-foam mattress with a three-layer design that prioritizes cooling, comfort, and support—three key elements of a good night’s rest.

Leesa uses recycled and natural materials in their construction, and as a CertiPUR-US®-certified brand, they steer clear of harmful chemicals like formaldehyde and PBDE flame retardants so you can sleep better knowing your mattress is safe.

The Top Layer:

On top, the cover is as beautiful as it is functional. Made from a stretchy polyester blend twill fabric, it’s thick and soft to the touch. And it looks good, too: It’s soft grey in color with four horizontal stripes across the bottom that complete Leesa’s signature design.

The Middle Layers:

The real magic starts just below the cover, with two distinct layers of foam that balance contouring, bounce, temperature regulation and motion isolation, delivering quality sleep for a wide range of sleepers and sleep styles.

First, a two-inch layer of breathable, responsive polyfoam that’s exclusive to Leesa. It sleeps cool, hugs the body and provides a bit of bounce.

Next is the memory foam layer, with two inches of contouring foam that provides pressure point relief to the hip, back and shoulder areas.

The Bottom Layer:

A six-inch base of polyfoam forms Leesa’s signature support core, a durable layer that provides support for sleepers of all shapes and sizes.

Where is Leesa Mattress Made?

Leesa mattresses are designed and manufactured in Tupelo, Miss., with domestic and imported parts.

Great Sleep Magic!

Overall, great Leesa Mattress! My wife and I love it after a month plus of use. It appears to cradle our bodies appropriately no matter how we sleep......left, right side, back or stomach. We do not feel too warm or cold so just nice for our needs. Yes, we have no problem recommending folks to give this mattress a try especially after we have experienced a whole bunch of other mattresses that were so, so!

Quality Mattress

I’ve always had middle of the night discomfort in my back (the product of a herniated disc) that caused me to toss and turn or find a comfortable position. I haven’t woken once in the middle of the night since I began sleeping on my Leesa mattress. I would highly recommend one to anyone.

Best mattress ever

This mattress is truly perfect. So comfy. It’s squishy while still being fully supportive. I can sleep on my sides without my hyper mobile shoulders hurting. I am so glad I got this mattress, it is truly so cozy.

Great Leesa Original Mattress

Great mattress. My previous mattress, which I had liked, was feeling a little stiff and causing frequent pain in my back and hips. I was intrigued by the “mattress in a box” options, so I did a bunch of research. I picked the Leesa Original. It’s very comfortable, and the previous body pains are non-existent. Delivery went very well. Probably quicker than buying in a store. Another great thing about Leesa is that I really admire their corporate policies. It made me feel good to know I was supporting a company that does so much good by providing mattresses to those that need them.

Leesa Original Mattress - Queen

I was a bit hesitant ordering a mattress online without actually laying on it first, but this mattress has been awesome. I'm a side sleeper, but occasionally lay on my stomach and back. This mattress provides good support no matter how I am laying, it's soft with just enough firmness.
