What Type of Sleeper is this Mattress Best For?

The AS3 is Amerisleep’s medium mattress—it’s about a five on a firmness scale of one to 10. It’s ideal for side sleepers of any weight as well as anyone who wants a deeply conforming feel, thanks to a thick, three-inch layer of memory foam.

Lightweight back and stomach sleepers will also get the support they need from the AS3, but those over 230 pounds may want a mattress that’s more firm.

Couples will also like Amerisleep for its motion isolation capabilities. The thick comfort layer limits motion transfer, which means co-sleepers are less likely to wake up because of their partner’s movements.

Traditional memory foam mattresses tend to sleep hot. To combat that, Amerisleep developed an open-cell memory foam that allows air to escape better than traditional foams, leading to a cooler, more comfortable night’s sleep.

Amerisleep offers a variety of other mattress models, each of which offers unique benefits. Here’s a look at their other memory foam options:

Mattress Model About the Mattress
AS1 Best firm mattress; ideal for stomach & back sleepers
AS2 Most popular mattress; provides dynamic support & back pain relief
AS3 Top-selling mattress, suited for all sleep types; blends support, softness & pressure relief
AS4 Best mattress for side sleepers, includes plenty of cushion for hips & shoulders
AS5 Best soft mattress, featuring responsive support & cushioning comfort

Amerisleep also offers a few hybrid mattress options, which combine the benefits of memory foam and pocket springs, and a 100 percent Natural Talalay Latex mattress, the Organica.

Amerisleep Mattress Materials & Design

Amerisleep AS3 is a 12-inch, all-foam mattress made with an exclusive, eco-friendly Bio-Pur® foam layer and HIVE™ foam layer for zoned support. As a CertiPUR-US® brand, Amerisleep’s foams are free from dangerous levels of chemicals that are harmful to human health, like heavy metals, formaldehyde and ozone depletors.

Here’s a peek at what an Amerisleep mattress is made of:

The Top Layer:

Wrapping the mattress is a cover made from a breathable cotton-polyester blend. This material promotes additional airflow around the body to enhance breathability. The cover zips off and is machine washable for easy spot-cleaning.

The Middle Layers:

In the middle, two distinct layers make up the comfort system of the Amerisleep AS3 mattress.

The top comfort layer is three inches of Bio-Pur®, an open-cell memory foam that’s more breathable and responsive than traditional memory foam. Bio-Pur® is produced from partially plant-based sources using a zero-emission process, making it the most eco-friendly material of its kind. It’s designed to contour the body and relieve pain at common pressure points like the hips and shoulders. Bonus: Bio-Pur® foam is resistant to dust mites, mold and mildew, too.

Next up is Amerisleep’s two-inch HIVE® layer, a transitional layer of zoned polyfoam. This layer features hundreds of foam hexagons grouped into five distinct comfort zones: Head and neck, shoulders and upper back, hips and lower back, upper legs and knees, and feet. The HIVE® layer delivers extra support to the head, back and legs, while cushioning the shoulders and hips for proper spinal alignment.

The Bottom Layer:

At the base, a seven-inch layer of durable polyfoam makes up the support layer, providing additional stability to the layers above.

Where is Amerisleep Mattress Made?

Amerisleep mattresses are built in the U.S. using eco-friendly materials certified by CertiPUR-US®.

Reviews

Matt

This is our second Amerisleep, won't buy anything else!

We purchased a queen sized Amerisleep about 4 years ago and love it. We decided to move that bed to the guest room and upgrade to a king in our bedroom. So happy with these mattresses! Will definitely be purchasing Amerisleep for the kids too when they get a little older.

Buying this was one of the best decisions I ever made.

I have had chronic back pain for years and have slept on and innerspring mattress and box spring. Recently I have had to take a hot soak before going to bed in order to fall asleep. Since I received my A3 mattress, I do not need to soak anymore. It is so comfortable and supporting that I fall asleep in minutes and sleep longer that I have in recent years.

Swif

Exactly what we needed from a bed! Very Satisfied!

Both my wife and I have back problems and are side sleepers and this bed is great! Very comfortable, fast rebound, and I can move and she doesn't even feel a thing. Its exactly what we were looking for!
